Data acquisition system is one of the kernel components of digital signal processing. DAQ implements in the field of radar signal processing, digital image processing,Virtual Instrument, software radio. The data acquisition and processing system based on PCI bus and DSP discussed in the article features with plug-and-play and high-speed real-time processing ability.DSP (Digital signal processor) is the control center of the system. The system has expansibility and flexibility because of the programmability of DSP. After the complete of hardware of the system, software components can be added to enhance the function of the system. The article introduces the architecture of TMS320C32 and the special addressing of DSP,completes the interface circuits between DSP and memory,PCI bus,AD converter. The design uses PCI bus to interface with PC. PCI bus features with high transfer rate;supports Plug and Play and hot Plug-in. The article introduces the architecture of PCI bus,and discusses two implement methods. The article introduces PCI chip CY7C09449PV implemented in the system, discusses the implementation and interface circuit, and completes the design of the interface circuit. In windows,it needs device driver to handle the hardware. The article introduces the development of device driver and some develop tools:DDK,VtoolsD,Windriver, discusses the design of device driver with Windriver in detail, and gives some PCI device driver code. The design of schematic circuit and printed circuit board is completed with Protel. The paper studies deeply into the design of systems based on PCI bus and DSP,including the design of interfacing circuit board and the device driver, and works out the circuit board.
