Seismic changes are taking place in the publishing trade,leading in place to a re-fashioning of the business scade of the trade. Nleanwhile,media are posing growing threats,a result Of the introduction of a group of newly-created rivals. Thirdly,rules of the game have out to respond to globalization. In a word ,the new century is witnessing a general transformation of China's publishing industry in terms of globalization,electronization and marlcetization. With China's accession to WTO,China's publishing sector faces both opportunites and challenges,anticipating intenser competition,china's publishing trade,from the perspective of industrial organization on comparative basis,lacks both macro and micro competitiveness,i.e.,its industrial organization suffers many deficiencies and its individual publishing houses are not strong in edge. With all these considerations in mind,the anther attempts address the issue of how to speed up industrialization of the publishing trade with a view toward sharpen the trade's overall competitiveness.
