Study On Data Warehousing And OLAP Technology Based On Decision

With the increase of decision support requirement to database, data warehousing and on-line analytical processing are essential elements of decision support, which has increasingly become a focus of the database industry.Though the data warehouse has been applied in many industries at present, there are many problems in which building a full project of data warehousing, reorganizing and maintaining data in data warehousing are key problems. For data warehousing is consisted of views and materialized views, the study on materialized views becomes the core of data warehousing research. The OLAP technology is slice, dice and drill operation, by which we can get useful information from multidimensional data warehouse.This paper provides an overview of data warehousing and OLAP technologies. We introduce the concepts and the essential character of data warehousing and OLAP, with an emphasis on the study of building full project of data warehousing. Furthermore, this paper analysis a selection algorithm of materialized views and the mathematics ideal of the incremental maintenance algorithm. At last, We build a simple data warehousing, based on Hans hospital information system, and process OLAP upon it to get department fare information which showed by chart.
