Forecast of plant diseases and insect pests is important in agriculture production. We adopt principles and ideas of Genetic Programming (GP),a kind of overall optimization algorithm,integrate it with geographic information technology and design Geographic Information System about Forecast of plant Diseases and insect Pests (DPF-GIS) that has been used in Gansu province. We get the forecast models that mate with the true results by the characteristic of adaption optimization,intelligent search of GP,and predict the degree of epidemic diseases. By GIS rooted on Maplnfo,database management and oriented-object programming,epidemic diseases information can be directly showed on the map and concretely analyzed by using analysis tools of the system;Agriculture information is showed and analyzed by the form of map and diagrams in GIS,which is favorable to decision-making in agriculture. Based on the research and analysis of GP,We improve the algorithm and obtain better optimization performance.We introduce principles of GP,improving methods and developed process of system,Finally,we present the implementation of DPF-GIS.
