Netvvork counting, security and analysis are important research fields of communication science in the vvorld of computer netvvork. It is valuable to build a system to count accurately , avoid netvvork Mostile intrusion, and analyze netvvork performance.In the paper, a method of counting and monitoring based on host computer is brought forvvard. Through NIC programming, a system of data gathering, data isolating and analyzing system is built. And then, the availability of the system is proved. The system can be used to analyze data gathered from netvvork and give an alarm vvhen intrusion is detected.When netvvork security is concerned, the paper provides a method of detecting SYN flood intrusion using artificial neural netvvorks. In the aspect of netvvork performance analysis, a new idea appears in the paper that, vvith the increase of netvvork load and the increase of connection rate, the model of netvvork traffic tends from instability towards Poisson distribution rather than vveight tailed distribution advanced 1990s and long range dependence distribution.
