Design And Implementation Of LAN Accounting System

With the constant increase of the network user, network management increasingly shows its importance. For security and management of private network, it is necessary to realize the access control for users visiting outside. Firstly, the thesis has analyzed the technological characteristic of the relatively extensive network management software and defects in private network such as high cost, poor security etc. Then the thesis has put fonvard a scheme of accounting management, which is suitable for the small-scale LAN.The designed accounting system is formed by two parts of data acquisition and data processing. The data acquisition module is set up on gateway between extemal network and intranet. The thesis introduces the Linux implementation of TCP/IP and mechanisms of modules. While analyzing and discussing the principle of the firewall all-sided, it have constructed the rule of firewall defined by oneself, which is used to control and count outside data. Because the firewall is in IP layer as a part of the kemel, it has relatively high efficiency and accuracy. The /proc file system presents a user readable window into the kernel's inner \vorkings. A /proc file is created for exchanging message between kernel and application. The data acquisition module as an independent kernel module can not influence the already existing function of the gateway.The initial data gathered are stored in the database, benefits follow-up analysis and deals with them. The management platform is implemented on Windows and can be installed on a computer in the intranet. For monitoring the user real-timely, adopt the communication mode of Client/Server betvveen the platform and gateway. Finally, the thesis discusses the inquiry and maintenance of data from customers and administrators.There are initial data, so data processing is comparatively easy. A perfect accounting system should design charging tactics and function modules according to the concrete demand of user. The thesis designs a simple demo and presents an ensure for forth successive implementation.
