Research And Application Of Dual Bit Rate Speech Coding Algorithm

On the basis of further study on the G.723.1 standard, this paper presents a multifunctional digital speech answering-recording system according to the requirements of project item. The system complies with G.723.1 to compress speech signal using ADSP₂181 chip of ADI. Due to the high complexity, some improvements have been made in channel anti-interference and running mode in accordance with actual storing application. Further more, to bring up the system efficiency, the algorithm has totally been written in ADSP₂181 assembly language and optimized in some degree. The use of DSP technology and algorithm with high compressing ratio increases the advantages of the system, so the digital answering-recording system has high capability to price ratio. And its market application field and foreground will be very wide and important.
