Increasing user capacity and quality of signals in mobile communication have forwarded the research on the Smart Antennas (SA). By using antenna array and array signal processing techniques, Smart Antenna technique extends the communication resources from the conventional frequency domain, time domain and code domain to the space domain. In mobile communications, SA can improve the system performance and capacity greatly. Now, the SA technique has been included into TD-SCDMA proposal which is presented by china and is accepted by ITU. Other proposals such as WCDMA and cdma2000 also include it. The SA technique has already become one of the key techniques in the third generation mobile communications. In order to promote the practicability of SA technique, the research is required.In this thesis, we introduce our implementation scheme to realize the "Constant Modulus" algorithm in Smart Antennas. It includes the basic theoretical analysis, the computer simulation, the scheme of Multi-user detection and the research on the system sensitivity to system error, in which the scheme of Multi-user detection and the research on the system sensitivity to system error are neoteric and important.We also introduce some background of mobile communication, adaptive antenna, beam-forming, the method of computer simulation to make our project's position in nowadays studies of communications to be clear.
