The Study And Implementation Of Front-End Of The System Of Translating Ada83 To Ada95

For maintenance and upgrade of Ada83 application system, it is important to translate Ada83 source to compatible Ada95 source. Based on the analysis and study of the "Ada Compatibility Guide Version 6.0"(ACG), a solution of a translator from Ada83 to Ada95 is provided. Source code translating-oriented compatibility checking and program automatic translation is used. The front-end of the translator is designed and implemented. Based on the analysis of language characteristics of Ada83, it is concerned with how the symbol table is constructed and organized, which can deal with the characteristics of strong typing and visibility rules of Ada83. Then it is presented how to solve compatibility checking and intermediate representation creating.
