The antenna near-field measurement is an indirect measurement method. In the whole measurement process, the near field data sampling is a very important but the most time-consuming phase. Therefore, how to get the near-field sampling data quickly and accurately is of great importance for improving the efficiency of the near-field measurement technique. The model-based parameter estimation (MBPE) is firstly applied to the near-field measurement in this thesis to deal with the near-field sampling data in space and spectrum domains respectively. The application of MBPE can shorten the time needed for the near-field data sampling. The numerical simulation results for the sampling reconstruction are in good agreement with the theoretical results, which indicates that the technique adopted is reliable and efficient. In the gain measurement, the sample spacing can be enlarged directly, yet the required maximum remains unchangeable. The fields at any point, especially at the points in the middle field region, are reconstructed by using the theory of the plane wave and the inverse fast Fourier transform in this thesis. Finally, some commonly used planar scanning geometries in the near-field measurement are summarized, and the software developed for the near-field measurement system by the author is briefly introduced.
