The modern program-controlled switcher adopts different versions of hardware in order to provide various resource channels: speech codec channel, DTMF channel, modulation-demodulation channel and so on. Although they are similar in functions, different versions of the hardware cannot be transplanted in design and adopted by other designs. With the development of technology, each version has a pressure of upgrade, which makes the designing period and the stable period of the product longer.The key problem of program-controlled switcher in resource processing design is to adopt a universal platform, which can be used by various resource processes. Thus we design a common-used resource processing platform based on DSP & PLD. With the digital signal processing technology as its center, the platform adopts modern computer technology and provides platform-supporting software. The expansion, opener & usability of the platform are guaranteed.This paper deals with the system of resource platform and the software-developing model and gives an example based on the platform. Thus, the paper is divided into 3 parts: the Chapter One introduces the background of platform designing, goal, and the development of key technology is presented in chapter Two. Chapter Three introduces the structure of hardware & software of the resource platform and the designing concept of each part. The effect of platform designing on the platform performance is the main point of this paper. The supporting software on the resource platform is another important factor in the design, which decides the difficulty of the software development and reliability of the system. In Chapter Four, a practical application based on the processing platform is given. In addition, detecting principle of DTMF is analyzed in detail and the hardware design, software development are also presented in this paper. Finally, some problems remained to be solved and the expansion functions are pointed out in the design.
