Research And Implementation Of Practical Mobile Terminal In Broadband Wireless IP Network

The effective combination of wireless communications and computer networking technology due to Broadband Wireless IP technology makes high-speed wireless Internet access a reality and enables Mobile Terminals to roam smoothly, which brings the real mobile office. Mobile Terminal, a critical part of the broadband wireless IP network, acts as the interface between end users and networks. Thus its design and realization are very important. With the purpose of putting things into practical usage, this paper presents driver software run on Windows platform for the wireless network interface card. Meanwhile, for the convenience of users, the corresponding configuration utility is developed as well, which is already commercially used in the market. Besides, we find that there exists a critical security problem within the 802.11 wireless networks. This paper presents a security scheme to meet the requirement for security services provided by wireless LANs. The scheme is based on the digital certificate system and a practical security system is finally set up. Security experiments are also done for software performance analysis.
