Data transmission in wireless channels with high speed and reliability is required in future wireless systems.Multi-carrier modulation is one of the best solutions to this problem.It can strongly combat mutipath and dispersive channel interference.Using DFT,it can be easily reliazed in transceivers.Therefore, the application of OFDM in wireless communication systems is robust and remarkable.This paper mainly deals with the application of OFDM in cellular mobile communication systems. Above all, key technologies such as channel coding, synchronization and channel estimation in OFDM systems are analyzed. Then, OFDM application in cellular system downlinks from HSDPA proposals is in depth discussed with the simulation results given. Further more, better performance obtained with adaptive OFDM algorithms is compared and improved. Finally, three main criterion of MC-CDMA is presented and analyzed.
