The Technology Of Time-Frequency Analysis For Suppressing Chaff-interference

In the modem naval battle the ships generally discharge chaff-jamming to defend the attack of missiles equipped with tip-guide radar system and receive the effective result. It is important for weapon system to study suppressing chaff-jamming in order to promote its ability of anti-clutter. The problem of suppressing the chaff-jamming in high-resolution radar is investigated in this paper, with the use of time-frequency analysis theory. The method of obtaining stable radar range profiles is briefly discussed at first and then analyzes the time-frequency properties for both jamming and target signals. Based on the theory of time -frequency filter and expansion the method of designing time-frequency pass region and its corresponding time-frequency projection filter are pointed out how to act on the radar return sampled in each pulse . Computer simulation results show that this method has better performance in suppressing the chaff-jamming and can regain the target signal in its original domain.
