The Analysis And Research On The Web-oriented Reengineering And Its Application In PRAS

With the rapid development of Internet techniques, the web-centric computing is getting more and more popular. And many legacy systems based on traditional software architecture need to migrate to new web based systems. This kind of migrating process is named as web-centric reengineering. Since the structure of legacy systems is complex, the requirement of system imigration is different, the web-centric reengineering practice lacks the support of theory methodologies and standards, and Web support software techniques develop so rapidly that the developers cannot get all the experiences, so it is easy to get failed. The writer of the paper has done some work on the research of reengineering theories and techniques,and validate the theories and techniques using a reengineering example named PRAS. The target is to guide the web-centric reengineering works. This paper firstly summarizes the reengineering definement and its process framework. Then summarizes the development process and the current state to show the background of web-centric reengineering. Then summarizes the reengineering approaches which are divided as white-box approaches and black-box approaches. And then detailedly describes the warpping techniques which are included in black-box approache. At last detailedly describes the web-centric reengineering process of PRAS(Paper Review Assistant System) which is the writer抯 research task in Global inforamtion and Telecommunication Institute of Waseda University.
