With the communication technology changing rapidly from analoy to digital, more functions of the contemporary radio communication system are implemented in software, which leads to "software radio" This paper firstly introduces the concept, characteristics and basic structure of software radio, analyzes and gives its key techniques and implementation thought. Then investigates the techniques for Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) communication system, which involves the selection and generation of pseudonoise sequence, the processing of spread spectrum signal, the implementation of CDMA communication and synchyonization problems. Based on these, discusses the application of software radio in spread spectrum communication, presents an idea of module structure design. Emphasis is put on the software implementation model of DSSS MODEM module (includes the implementation structure of software radio structure both in sending and receiving end, acquisition and tracking of direct spread spectrum sequence, carrier synchronization and analysis of channel in 0555 communication system). Finally presents the software design method. Based on the concept and the method of software simulation, by computer simulation and the performance analysis of the system, satisfactory results and some significant conclusions are obtained.
