The development of Slag Glass-Ceramic has the strategical importance in the resource recycle and environment protection. However, the relationships of composition~ micro-structure and properties are still unclear. And the material designing method is Trial and Error. These blocked the development of Slag Glass-Ceramic and made its industrial application more difficult. Based on the study of Expert System(ES). Artificial Neural Network(ANN) and the knowledge of Slag Glass-Ceramic, a Slag Glass-Ceramic Expert System based on ANN has been set up to make the material designing more intelligent. According to the principles of material designing and Artificial Intelligence(AJ), the procedure of Slag Glass-Ceramic抯 material designing is generalized and modelized in this paper. The samples-database and rules-database are also construct with the database technology. The applications of ANN to knowledge acquire~. express and property predict are also studied. The analogy method and experience method in material designing are investigated and the analogy designing model and experience designing model are worked out. The principles and methods of the combination of ANN and ES are put forward in this paper, which solve the problems of knowledge acquire and express effectively. A Slag Glass-Ceramic ES based on ANN is constructed in this study, which compose with samples-database and mles-database~ reasoning model. explaining model and friend interface. This ES can do the material designing and properties predicting quickly and effectively.
