Music education plays an important role in people's comprehensive development. Music class is an indispensable part in fundamental education. Education in music education is mainly embodied in the students'abilities of feeling the beauty, and their awareness of the pursuit of beauty. It enriches our emotional world and purifies our soul via beauty. As music courses in schools, music education needs the impartment of music knowledge and the cultivation of music abilities which is realized by teaching.The relation between Education and Teaching in education is natural, needless to discuss. The discussions in this thesis originates from the disconnection between Education and Teaching in current music education of elementary and secondary schools in China Mainland. At present, music courses in China Mainland emphasize too much on the meaning of Education, even mistaking Education for Ethic Education and neglecting the Teaching which Education depends upon. Because of the narrow understanding of Education and insufficiency embodiment of Teaching in music class, we emphasize too much on the contents which mainly focus on Education other than music, neglecting the nature of music and the regularity of learning in the process of music teaching practice.Phenomenon appears that the two parts disconnect and contradict. It buries the value of music class, rendering the goal of music education beyond reach. Under the circumstances, to make the educators to establish the music courses and conception of teaching conforming to the regularity of music education and to unify Education and Teaching in music education to instruct the music teaching even better, this thesis discusses the relation between Education and Teaching in music education of elementary and secondary schools in China to make the educators rethink the value of music and the meaning of music education in regular schools, to enhance the guiding of music teaching and normalization of the teaching behaviors of teachers in teaching practice, to upgrade the effectiveness of teaching and finally to realize the goal of education.In this thesis, utilize some research methods in educational science such as literature research, analytic research, comparative analysis and survey research. First, start from the fundamentals theories of regular educational science and the nature of music. After analyzing the music teaching materials and cases of music courses, we explain the importance of consistency of Education and Teaching and illustrate that effective Teaching is the precondition and the guarantee of Education.
