Our Party always pay attention to Idea and Politics Education of undergraduates and promote their healthy growth from the ideological guidance. The chairman Hu Jintao said one forward-looking nation and party should take their sight on youth, because the Youth is the power of progressive history and progressive society. Undergraduates are the hope of our nation and the Idea and Politics Education for undergraduates is the foundational work in colleges. At the same time, counselors are the main part of Idea and Politics Education for students. And they take direct influence on students.As the change of situation both at home and abroad, Idea and Politics Education of undergraduates is facing new conditions. Also, it brings about new problems and new challenges for counselors on Idea and Politics Education work. Such as western culture and thoughts enter into our country along with the reform-open programme and the development of socialist market economy, the influence to college students is inevitable. Be faced with different personality of students, counselors should establish new work idea and explore innovative methods that can make their job effective and nichetargeting. These all can prove counselor's special post. However, there are many problems of counselor post itself. For instance, heavy tasks, low quality and unstable team.Elite-orientated education becomes public education during education reform, and counselors need more kinds of knowledge and skills, not just experience and passion. Different from other staves, counselor's post is particular, and it needs special consciousness and profession spirit. Therefore, we need solve the current problems from counselor post and make this post do good functions.
