80s-born graduates, is a generation who grew up accompanying the process of opening-up and reform. They are the witness of social transformation, undertaker of the pressure, but also the beneficiary of the fruits resulting from opening-up and reform. What happened to their ideas, especially their political views? How these changes will influence China's political process? How to adapt 80s-born graduates' changes and remove their shortages in political views, and how to educate and guide them properly? It is not only an important theoretical issue needed deep research, but also a significant practical question. The thesis, based on the 2000 questionnaires and 50 individual interviews, shows that there are five new changes in 80s-born graduates'political views:small at both ends and big in the middle in political cognition; weakening and diverse trend in political belief; relatively satisfactory political attitudes, but neutral, ambiguous, even radical ones are jumbling in it; fluctuating political emotion, deviation of understanding and behavior dislocation exist in a certain degree; a high and rational sense of political participation, but the level is relatively low. These changes have the following four characteristics:coexistence of sensitivity and indifference; interweaving of reason and sense; reunification of repetition and plasticity; manifestation of utilitarian and anomie. Some of these changes are irrational, not suitable for the requirement towards 80s-born graduates for modernization construction. But the changes are not fearful, also can be understood. Educators should treat these new changes and new characteristics of 80s-born graduates' political views maintaining an attitude of tolerance and understanding. The changes of 80s-born graduates'political views are not groundless rumors, but the reflection of their minds to all kinds of intricate and complicated phenomenon in the process of reform and opening-up, with a broad social base. Tremendous achievements in reform and opening-up, increasingly systematic and fruitful ideological and political theory, various social activities play an active role to promote the 80s graduates to establish correct political views. But still, there are some negative factors. Negative social phenomenon weaken their political belief, western social ideologies divide their political identity, outdated ideological and political education retard their political cognition, employment pressure challenges their political enthusiasm, the negative contents in China's traditional culture mislead their political participation etc. In addition to these social factors,80s-born graduates' lower internalization capabilities, blind herd mentality, as well as the contradiction between ideals and reality can not be ignored either.Confronted with the status quo of 80s graduates'political views, how to improve it? Family education is the basis, school education is the priority, and social development is support. All the forces should cooperate with each other to provide a good environment for 80s-born students to establish correct political views. Community education needs to establish an orderly political social environment, optimize the public opinion atmosphere of mass media; school education needs more efforts, give full play to ideological and political education courses, broaden the scope of political education, and earnestly strengthen campus culture construction; family education needs to change parents'conception of education, improve family educational environment and interpersonal relationships; self-improvement requires that students attach importance to the role of self-education, enhance their enthusiasm of self-education, promote the further development of self-education.In a word, this thesis, using questionnaire as a means of investigation, combined with rich data, aims to reflect the new changes and features of 80s-born graduates' political views and put forward some strategies to overcome the shortcomings and deficiencies to train qualified successors for our country, and ultimately ensure that China's socialist cause develops fast and smoothly.
