Into the 21st century, the rise of researching on comprehensive learning in western countries affected the teaching of reading which advocates vigorously understanding, it pursues the pursuit of in-depth understanding. The so-called "deep understanding" means to be able to think creatively and to take action flexibly. Reading understanding is not only the construction of knowledge but can use a variety of ways to apply knowledge. Back view of our reading instruction, despite the New Curriculum Standards thinks highly of reading understanding, and emphasizes reading is useful for the students to upgrade the realm of aesthetic and the realm of life, but in fact acceptance of learning, rote learning and mechanical training etc. are still common in learning. It makes our country's reading instruction seriously lagging behind in comparison with the west. How to get rid of this bad situation and build rich ethnic characteristics of the new paradigm of teaching reading actively has become an urgent task of the current language education.Language courses cannot be lack of philosophical foundation; reading instruction should not be missing philosophy of the Enlightenment. In particular, in-depth understanding as a state of understanding shall be clarified through philosophical thinking, after that we can gradually achieve the objectives in practice. In the philosophical field of vision, the teaching of reading requires both epistemology and ontology. This provides a clear understanding of the two basic directions:First, intellectual understanding, which rely on logic, analysis, and cogitations on the nature of things; Second it is the gestalt understanding, which rely on intuition, insight and inspiration on the nature of things. The former is the essence of western philosophy; the later is the Eastern philosophy of the charm. The fusion of eastern and western philosophy will bring a new atmosphere for a final settlement of understanding in reading teaching. It is based on this thinking, this paper uses a combination of theory and practice to solve the following problems:1.What are the understanding and realm of understanding? 2. Why should we pursue the realm of understanding? 3. What's the feature of the state of understanding and how to achieve it? 4. How to put the pursuit of the sate of understanding into practice? Specific papers are divided into five parts covering:Part 1 Seek of the philosophical foundation for reading understanding, focusing on Wittgenstein's view of understanding, Gadamer's view of understanding and Wang Guowei's view of understanding, using the fusion of the eastern and western philosophers'view to clarify the theoretical vision "understanding" issue, presented and elaborated on "Understanding realm" concept, emphasizing quality, with in-depth understanding of the understanding of state is reading understanding's aim.Part 2 Elaborates on the feature of "the realm of understanding", namely that to understand the three levels:the understanding of words and sentences, the understanding of the themes and the understanding of the culture. The three realms of the understanding:the natural understanding, self-understanding and the philosophy of understanding.
