Study On Ideological And Political Education For Students In University Crisis Management

On 12 May 2008,Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan was the highest risk and most destructive and difficult sudden disaster since the founding of new China.90 universities in Sichuan were facing an unprecedented crisis of catastrophe at varying degrees. Wenchuan Earthquake on 12 May warned us that similar to other departments, university, a special public education sector, might face to crises from nature and society at any time, University authorities must have adequate risk management awareness and a comprehensive crisis management mechanism, so preventive measures must be taken. After Wenchuan Earthquake on 12 May, in the face of sudden crisis, crisis management was combined with ideological and political education in colleges and universities based on different earthquake disasters, which developed the function of ideological and political education of students and accumulated rich experience. The typical cases were analyzed in this study to conclude their success, which was of great theoretical and practical significance for innovating and enriching theories of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Taking universities in Wenchuan Earthquake on 12 May as an example, crisis management and theories of ideological and political education were comprehensively analyzed by field survey, comparative analysis, case analysis,empirical research, normative analysis and empirical analysis.From the educational environment, educational content, educational objects, educational carriers, educational methods and educational mechanisms, the specific status of ideological and political education of students in university crisis management of Sichuan after the earthquake was investigated, and thus the effects of ideological and political education of students in university crisis management of Sichuan after the earthquake were also evaluated in this study. The results showed that ideological and political education of students played an important role in university crisis management. Ideological and political education of students must pay much attention to the people-oriented principle in the whole university crisis management and take security and stability as an important task to form the pattern of ideological and political education with full educating people.Meanwhile, aimed to weaknesses in ideological and political education of students in this crisis management, new ways of ideological and political education of students in crisis management should be increasingly innovated, and thus disaster warning systems of ideological and political education in sudden incidents should be established to improve the entire system and mechanism of ideological and political education. Especially, the sense of crisis education should be strengthened, the professional quality training should be increased, the value of education should be highlighted and the monitoring system operation should be standardized, which will all strengthen and develop ideological and political education of students in university crisis management.
