Nowadays, as the trend of the world's change and development, globalization has become an irreversible trend which permeates into economy, science, culture, trade, transportation, even international political and military fields. Language is a communicative bridge between people from different countries and it plays an important role in these areas. In terms of using scope, the user population, or in terms of development prospects, undoubtedly English is one of the most important languages. In order to enhance national competitiveness, governments strongly promote learning English. It can be said now learning English has become a compulsory course of every nation. And learning English well and communicating effectively in English is the ultimate goal of all learners. Most Yi-inhabited areas are in beautiful mountainous sceneries, which contain long-standing culture, and it is an excellent choice to develop the tourism resources. In order to make these tourist advantages go to the world, talents are necessary, especially those who master English proficiently. In May 2009, the researcher personally went to Xide County, Liangshan Autonomous Prefecture to take test to 218 Yi students of Model I of two bilingual schools in Xide-Middle School for Nationalities and Xide County Middle School. The questionnaire designed by the researcher is proved to possess validity and co-efficiency, the internal consistency is 0.80. The questionnaire demonstrated that at the vast majority of cases, in the English teaching of Yi students, the main instruction language is its "second language"-Chinese; its code-switching process is:English-Chinese-Yi. In this survey, when Yi students learn English, 80% take Yi-Chinese-English way. For the ethnic students of different Chinese levels, English learning is also subject to the different levels. Thus, for Yi students, the acquisition of Chinese is very realistic and necessary. Therefore, the research tested the various factors of interlanguage when the subjects acquired Chinese and counted their English learning situation. And, the researcher interviewed the teachers of two primary schools of Xide County-Mingde primary school and Heboluoyizijue primary school. This research comparatively analyzes Yi and Chinese from the two aspects of phonetics and sentence sequence, and draws out the main interlanguage characteristics when primary and secondary school Yi students learn Chinese. Through quantitative analysis of the obtained data, this study will make a more systematic conclusion about the interlanguage of primary and secondary school Yi students when acquiring Chinese. There are many factors affecting Yi students acquiring Chinese, this study focuses on the fossilization factor, and makes multiple regressions about the language learning strategy, the first language transfer, the degree of notice, topics, the psychological distance and the interaction. The results show that the biggest factor affecting Chinese acquisition is the first language transfer, next one is the amount of attention, and then is topics and the psychological distance, and then is the language learning strategies, and the last one is the interaction.By comparative analysis of Yi-Chinese acquisition and Chinese-English learning, the researcher found the similarities and difference among the three languages, and found the similarities between Chinese acquisition and English learning of Yi students to enhance their capacities to learn English. At the same time, the researcher also found the differences of the two processes and tried to explore more communicant points to help them learn English more effectively.Resolving the language problem of Yi students can educate more qualified people. So education can not only promote the realization of the individual rights, but also push forward the entire Yi regional economic, cultural and social development. Based on the above research, this subject hopes to explore a road conforming to primary and secondary school Yi students to learn English, thereby improving the present dilemma of Yi students of Liangshan Sichuan.
