Research For Interoperation Of Education Resource Metadata Based On OAI-PMH

OAI-PMH, is one protocol which can improve the ability of interoperation among different database, by mechanism of metadata harvesting. It is open, interoperating and sharing. Education resource, is one type of the valuable learning resources. It is rich or not, affects the level of education and scientific research directly. Developing of computer technology, web technology and information search technology, more and more education resources are searched, visited and maintained by network. However, how to get content from vast amounts of information becomes a serious problem. Starting from this status, this paper tries to realize interoperation of education resources metadata based on OAI-PMH. It can solve the problems of scattered isolated of education resources.Firstly, combing with the status of college education resources construction, this paper carefully studied the domestic and external education resources metadata standards, especially studied CELTS-41 which established by the Education Ministry Information Technology Standards Committee; Secondly, it introduced the theory and technology of OAI-PMH in details, especially introduced structure and interoperation between these components; Finally, it spent big contents to introduce how to realize interoperation of metadata based on OAI-PMH, and got initial realization of Data Provider. Solving interoperation problem can promote sharing of education resources for the whole project.
