Nowadays, with proceeding of new curriculum reform and development of quality education, education is attracting growing attention of the public. Therefore, the qualifications for teachers are becoming ever strict, of which the focus is to cultivate professional teachers and improve their teaching ability, thus promote their development. It is well known that traditional teachers' assessment system is bad for the professional development of teachers. More and more specialists, scholars and teachers are interested in the assessment system with the aim of promoting teachers' professional development.This paper mainly studies the evaluation standards for math teachers' professional development in junior middle schools. Based on the study on the established evaluation indicator systems for teachers' professional development in different regions such as America, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc, a series of evaluation standards suitable for the professional development of math teachers in junior middle schools are found out with reference to the characteristics of the math course in junior middle schools and the regionsThe method of literature analysis is used to find out problems in the existing literatures, to study the factors that affecting teachers' professional development, and to determine the levels of the evaluation. A series of preliminary standards are worked out through the comparison of the evaluation systems in the US, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Interviews and questionnaires are carried out among experts and teachers through which the preliminary standards can be reconsidered and improved, thus the evaluation standards suitable for math teachers in junior middle schools are found out. Apply the resultant standards to evaluate several math teachers in junior middle schools, which on one hand, can help the teachers tested find their problems, thus promote their development; on the other hand, can verify the availability of the standards.The study shows:First, the evaluation of professional development for math teachers' in junior middle school includes five major aspects: specialty knowledge, specialty capability, professionalism, professional attitudes, and professional progress. Found from the evaluation activities, schools' overall target aspects for the professional development of math teachers in junior middle schools. Teachers' achievement motivation, study awareness, reflections'awareness, ability and opportunity, and whether to seek consciousness which on own initiative specialized eagerly anticipates, etc are all the major evaluation of middle school mathematics teachers of development potential.Second, the evaluation not only aims at describing the current level of the professional development of math teachers in junior middle school, but also aims at discovering the teachers' potential of sustainable development. At the same time, the evaluation could also benefit the teachers being tested. The study proved that: the standards could evaluate the teachers and find their problems. Also there will be some suggestions for the teachers, which would promote their development. During the research, it is also discovered that teachers' willingness to improve themselves is also an important factor for their professional developmentThird, through the tests, it is proved to be available to work out standards for the evaluation of professional development for math teachers in junior middle school. The resultant evaluation in this study can be an example and a reference to other subject in primary and secondary education. However, the study mainly focuses on several cases, so the results could only be valid within certain cases.
