Currently most online courses generally focus on designing of the management module and the interaction interface, while paying little attention on the tracking and analysis of learning behavior, or on the training of conscious self-monitoring capability of students. Empirical analysis shows that the learners'self-monitoring has an important bearing on the behavior and effectiveness of the online learning. From the overview of existing research results it can be found that, although the quality monitoring system in the field of online education has been issues of concern, most of the studies were from the view point of theoretical discussions on how to strengthen the monitoring and control on quality of learning, while few were related to the practical desinging on the implementation of monitoring. Therefore, the study on theory and practical research on monitoring learning behavior in the online learning promises significant importance.In distant teaching, it is usually unrealistic for the learners to"naturally"form good learning habits and self-learning behavior, so it requires the conscious guiding and training of the teachers during the long-term learing courses to gradually establish. The process of learning can never be arbitrary and freewheeling. It needs both internal control and external control. External control, as a learning supporting system, plays specially important roles in the situations for learners of not so high self-controling capability. So, with behaviorism and self-learning theory as the theoretical foundation, we designed this learning behavior monitoring system, in order to regulate the learning behavior of learners through the learning process monitoring and control, to further improve learner ability of self-monitoring and self-regulated learning, to gradually transferr the responsibility of monitoring and management on the learning process from the teacher to learners, and ultimately to acheive the transformation from the learning process under external control to the learning process under self-control of the learners.This article, from the aspect of conducting monitoring and control on the behavior of newwork course learners, unifying the controling, real-time feedback and outcome-evaluating of learing behavior, presented the designing and implementation of a real-time monitoring system for learners'behavior during the learning process. The author hopes that this system can do help in the construction of reasonable and effective learning resources, in the establishment of autonomous learning abiltiy of learners, and in the assessment on the learners as well as the process and the outcome.
