It is over 30 years since the Reform and Opening policy has been introduced, and the concept of market economy has been developing deeply into every corner of our lives. However, our neglect of education of economics in elementary school results in the unbalance of the education development. It is should be on the agenda that education take the social responsibility and children be given the opportunity to learn the economics.When taking the course of Studying of Literature on Comparative Education, I found that the American children begin to learn economics when they are in kindergarten, and the education of economics also runs through the elementary and secondary educational process. America's education of economics in elementary school accumulates rich experience and thus becomes the model of economics education in other countries of the whole world. The thesis briefly introduces the development process of economics education in America's elementary school, and chiefly focuses on its present state. Basic economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics and international economics are the teaching content introduced in the thesis.Those teaching content are reasonably arranged and are all from the economic phenomena that can be observed and felt by the children in their daily lives; therefore, children can easily accept and understand them. In economics class, teachers adopt different teaching methods according to different teaching content, which makes the class atmosphere lively and actively.In addition to the education system, the American whole society pays high attention on the education of economics in elementary school. Many outstanding writers and scholars write, a great deal of literatures on children economics. In these books, interesting stories are combined with economics concepts as well as well-designed illustrations, which not only attract the attention of the children, but are greatly welcomed by the parents and teachers. These books can be the teaching materials of teachers', the story resource of parents'and reading materials of children's.Stones from other hills may serve to polish the jade. Learning a lesson from the America's experience can enhance our understanding, adjust our thoughts and be our action guide on development of economics education in elementary school of China.
