Traditional health-preserving sport that is a characteristic curriculum of Beijing Sport University (BSU), since the year of 1980, its curriculum development has made a quite great progress. Especially after the Health-preserving Sport Teaching and Research Section came into existence in 2004, the teaching scope of health-preserving sport extended continuously from a separate course to a consummate curriculum system which has the setting of elective course, minor course and major course. Moreover, BSU started to admit health-preserving sport undergraduate majors in 2008. In order to impel health-preserving sport curriculum development, this thesis has research and discussion on the optimization and innovation of health-preserving sport curriculum.Using methods of questionnaire, literature, expert-interview, statistics and logical analysis, the thesis focuses on the factors of traditional health-preserving sport curriculum development, researches the teaching status quo and teaching circumstance of traditional health-preserving sport in BSU, and proposes strategies of the curriculum optimization and development with the hope of giving some reference for further development of the curriculum to BSU. Investigation showed that:The traditional health-preserving sport curriculum setting aims of different layers of BSU are comparatively in reason, however, that of health-preserving sport majors needs further research and improvement. The age structure of traditional health-preserving sport teaching faculty is reasonable, the education structure and the rank structure are fairly good, but there is a shortage of teachers. Presently, students are satisfied with skill course, but theory course need improvement. Teaching facility construction is in good state, which can meet the needs of students'having class and training. Many excellent teaching materials were compiled, but lacked for centralized provision and distribution with pertinence to different layers of students. Most students are satisfied with the assessment method of traditional health-preserving sport curriculum, especially those who take the course as an elective course. But some majors think that the assessment is no more than teachers'subjective sum-up opinion, and the examination cannot reflect how much theory and skill students have digested.Withal, the author proposed several strategies to the optimization and development of traditional health-preserving sport curriculum as below:Strengthen the construction of teaching faculty. Elevate young teachers'level of specialty theory knowledge and scientific research, fetch in professionals that have abundant specialty knowledge and high teaching-level. Optimize traditional health-preserving sport curriculum content; increase theory class hour in elective course. Solve the problem that all students use a set of uniform teaching material via administration of college, and choose teaching materials that tally with students'needs according to their majors. Consummate assessment methods, establish multiple evaluation system and radicate the main body of the system.The author hopes the research above be helpful to traditional health-preserving sport curriculum innovation of BSU.
