| With the policy of China's university enrollment expansion, the college graduates have been increased rapidly in recent years, while the employment of university graduates has become a high-profile social hot issue gradually. And since 1993, the policy of employment of college graduates in China has undergone a qualitative change from the original "all pack allotment" into "find a job by oneself" which makes college students lose the protective umbrella as soon as they graduate, and they have to join the competition, find jobs by themselves. So the role transition from students to professional people and the conversion from school life to working life are both needed, which play important role in career transition. This paper is concerned about the career transition of graduates with qualitative research, in-depth interview to seven graduates within three years'working, and text analysis method is used to interpret two graduates'experiences, in order to present the career transition experience and the influence factors and transition mode are discussed. The dissertation comprises four chapters:The first chapter points out the background, significance, problem, method and process of the research. The existing literature is also summarized, and the key words are defined. The second chapter and the third chapter present and analyze two different cases, which describe the two college graduates'career transition experiences, in which its influence factors are discussed, and the mode of career transition is generalized. And the types of career experience and the significance of career development are also discussed. The fourth chapter is the conclusion and introspection. The career transition experience of graduates has been generalized, and its influence factors and the mode of transition have also been summarized. Then provide suggestions for promoting the graduates'transition. The research indicates that career transition is a complex exploring experience, which is also a varying developmental process. The experience can be divided in to the following stages:job-hunting, career decision and working experience. After working for a period of time, career decision will be done again, according to a second decision; the graduate will make a decision--to hunt a job again or to stay on. There are three mode of career transition: the first one is the winding raise mode, the second one is the smooth transition mode, and the last one is the passive evasion mode. There are two major influence factors; one is the personal-related factors, which include occupational self-efficacy, personality characteristics, the vocational personality types, self-awareness and occupational exploration; the other one is the environmental factors, which includes the influence of home education and the working organization. |
