As a special group in the college, the minority students will encounter some special difficulties which due to their cultural background when they are studying in the campus dominated by Han culture. Learning adaptation is the key part of the minority students'life, which will be essential for the minority students'development in the future and the quality of higher education in China. So, their learning adaptation should deserve more attention. This paper is based on six "min kao min"Xinjiang minority student cases, using qualitative research methods:interview, observation and documentary study as the tool to collect data to analyze their learning adaptation process. The class environment, language problem, study methods, examination preparation, peer relationship, help-seeking in learning as the main parts have been analyzed and based them the following conclusions have been made:to some degrees, the process of the minority students'learning adaptation is the process of acculturation, and language is one of the most important elements that affects this process; the quality of acculturation and its speed will influence the process of learning adaptation directly, then further affect the minority students'academic achievement level. So, culture is the key factor that causes the learning adaptation problem and their lower academic achievement level. The following suggestion that aim to promote the minority students'learning adaptation process after having analyzed these adapting problems from the aspects of cultural discontinuieise theory of the education anthropology, Xinjiang's basic education, preparatory education, higher education and individual have been given:1.to reform the curriculum and carry out multi-culture education;2.to improve the management of preparatory education and promote the quality level of it;3.to increase capital input for Xinjiang's basic education and enhance its quality level;4.to help the Xinjiang minority students adapt themselves to the new campus through different ways and make them set up proper view on learning;5.to promote the relationship between Xinjiang minority students and Han students.
