Harmony and stability is the highest state of ancient Chinese civilization, and the status of traditional Chinese thought of harmony is self-explanatory, which not only relates to human and nature, but also an important principle to regulate human relations.From the ancient Confucius"harmony is the most precious"and"seeking harmony without uniformity", Mencius"the time isn't as important as the terrain, and the terrain isn't as important as the unity of the people", to the Warring States period Xunzi"harmony brings a state of unity", until the current ideology formation of"building a harmonious society", the development of"harmony"culture in Chinese history has never been interrupted. The opening ceremony theatrical performances of Olympic Games, which was performed on the stage of Bird's Nest in Beijing on the evening of August 8th, 2008, showed the charm of traditional"harmony"culture from the antiquity to present China.Olympic Games is a sporting event with the greatest influence and the largest number of participants in the world today. From the originating of ancient Olympic Games in 776 BC, to the decline of it in 393 AD, from the revival of modern Olympic Games in 1896, to the brilliance of it today, peace and friendship are always the eternal pursuits and unchangeable purposes of it."Harmony"culture runs through the development of Olympic Games.Throughout world history, the traditional Chinese"harmony"Culture and Olympics"harmony"culture were bred in two different social environments of East and West, and cultured in different social civilization. Therefore, there are some degree differences between these two"harmony"cultures.In the social development trend of globalization, culture intakes and supplements each other in the way of blending. So this article is mainly about comparative analysis between traditional Chinese and the Olympics"harmony"Culture, from which to find the similarities and differences between them, trying to get two"harmony"culture learn from each other in the exchange, and enrich their cultural connotations.In preface, the first part of this paper, it describes the purposes and the significance of this research, the recent situation of it at home and abroad and the research methods used in writing this thesis. The second part introduces the production conditions of traditional Chinese"harmony"culture, and summarizes the three main cultural relationships of it: harmony between heaven and human, harmony among people and harmony of oneself. The third part discusses the production conditions and the content of Olympics"harmony"culture. The fourth section discusses the meeting points of traditional Chinese"harmony"Culture and the Olympics"harmony"Culture: 1. the common pursuit for peace; 2."friendship first, competition second"and"participation is more important than winning"; 3. the art show of Beijing Olympics opening ceremony - the perfect fusion of traditional chinese"harmony"Culture and the Olympics "harmony" culture. The fifth part compares the exist differences beween the traditional Chinese"harmony"Culture and the Olympics"harmony"culture: 1."Moderation" ,"avoidance of Controversy"and"competition"-- the Fusion of the two competitive consciousness; 2."common first principles"and"respect for personality development"-- two different"harmony"cultural complementarity. The sixth part of the paper points out some inspirations of traditional Chinese"harmony"culture to the Olympic"harmony"culture: 1. the inspiration of"unity of heaven and human"to Olympics and the harmonious development of Society; 2. the inspiration of"harmony among people"to the main interpersonal issues in Olympic Games; 3.the inspiration of"selfcongruence"to the problem of athletes doping.
