| The development of computer and network technology has not only changed the way we work and life, but also is transforming the education style and learning style. School education, as well as formal classes can no longer satisfy the needs of English learners at all levels. More flexible and personalized learning styles are urgently needed.Computer-assisted English vocabulary learning system for Middle school students is learner-centered and aims at creating more active learning environment. Based on behaviorism, the system focuses on stimulating and strengthening. Skinner's Procedural teaching theory once made a big effect on education reform. It is still very useful for the society, especially for skills training. The author makes use of it in English words learning. The author classify learning materials, to ensure that learning is followed by small steps and is self-paced.Functions of the learning system include: word study, word dictation, and record inquiry study. The author classify the words by texts, alphabetical order, part of speech or error frequency. So learners can choose learning contents freely. Learners can inquire learning records by time or by word. The author believes that the training of wrong words can improve the efficiency of study. During study, the system will present the word, its form and meaning at the same time. By multi-channel inputting, students can quickly set up all aspects of contact so that they have accurate knowledge of all aspects of the word. As a result, students can have better understanding of words.The article covers the following of this learning assisted system: basic concepts, overall design, development platform and tools, database design, and technical details of some modules.The innovation of this paper:In this paper, according to Procedural teaching theory, the author design and realize Computer-assisted English vocabulary learning system for Middle school students. Procedural teaching theory pay attention to timely feedback, and continuously strengthened, self-paced, low error rate. On the basis of it ,the author design learning modules according to the frequency error. So students can quickly find and correct the words that often make mistakes. |
