Some Applications Of The Basic Geometry Pattern In The Geometry Learning Of Junior Middle School Level

The plane geometry is one of the most difficult parts for the junior middle school students, and the study of the plane geometry has great influence on a student's mathematical capability. With the increase of learning difficulty starting from grade seven, some students might be afraid of this learning difficulty. This phenomenon is quite common in ordinary schools. Basic Geometry Pattern Method is one of the most widely used methods in the plane geometry learning. Previously, the study of the basic geometry pattern is usually focused on the applied cases, and little has been done concerning its relationship among geometry terms, logic make-out etc. In this paper, we will, from the point of geometry terms, logic make-out etc, investigate how the basic geometry pattern can be applied to theplane geometry learning.Firstly, we have made some questionnaire concerning the geometry studying status quo of the junior middle school students, and found that the difficulty of the plane geometry learning for some students comes mainly from the facts that the logic of geometry is too strong, so that it is hard for them to write the proof processes correctly, to make interpretations correctly among the graphics language, symbolic language and wordage language, and to provide assistant lines correctly.Secondly, we choose four aspects and study the associated role of the basic geometry pattern in these aspects. In addition, based on the author's personal teaching experience, the teaching strategies of the basic geometry pattern are also conducted with respect to the different kinds of lessons.Finally, we have made control experiment among six classes in a junior middle school. Our experiment has carried through three semesters, and our tests show that the mathematical ability of the experiment class is much better than that of others. For those students who have difficulty in the geometry learning, our tests also show that the application of the basic geometry pattern has positive effect.
