Higher vocational and technical education, as a new type of education, has achieved vigorous development. A growing number of vocational graduates go to society and become an important force in building a harmonious society. Higher vocational and technical education has aroused widespread concern in society, with the character and quality of the students being the focus of social concern. The author, teaching in a higher vocational college for many years, has been concerned about the growth and all-round development of students. Through years of careful observation and investigation, the author found that vocational college students are generally good, except that there are some who is lack of sense of responsibility in life, honesty, self-development, family and society, etc.Although the current vocational colleges have moral education courses, these courses do not attach importance to education of responsibility. It is the deficiency in responsibility education that leads to the absence and weakening of students' sense of responsibility. The absence of sense of responsibility in vocational college students is not conducive to the building of a harmonious society as well as the development of vocational education and students' long-term growth. Being concerned about the present situation of students' sense of responsibility and the reform and effectiveness of responsibility education , the author carries out study of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges.This paper is divided into three parts . The first part illustrates the responsibility education of higher vocational colleges under the view of scientific concept of development.First of all, make clear the meaning of responsibility. In a narrow sense, it refers to moral responsibility, which means an individual voluntarily shoulder duties that should be done. School education of responsibility refers to an organized and planned education of responsibility of students, with the purpose of cultivating students' sense of responsibility, improving their responsible ability and consciously performing their duties.Besides, understand the relationship between scientific concept of development and higher vocational colleges' responsibility education. (1) The training objective of responsibility education in higher vocational schools is consistent with the " people-oriented " scientific concept of development . (2) The methods of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges should reflect the coherence and joint nature of the scientific concept of development.Finally, analyze the characteristics of higher vocational colleges under the view of scientific concept of development. (1) The human nature . The process of responsibility education should contain human nature, that is to cultivate students' sense of responsibility based on the characteristics and existing problems of vocational students. (2) The professional nature. The purpose of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges is to train students in professional self-identity as well as professional loyalty, and raise their sense of professional responsibility.. (3) The practical nature. Vocational colleges should strengthen responsibility education during students' practical training session so that students can understand job responsibilities and enhance their sense of professional responsibility. (4) The coordination nature. Vocational colleges should not only call on all the teachers to enhance education in students sense of responsibility , but also should cooperate with training teachers in training bases and related enterprise administrators to carry out field education of students' sense of responsibility.The second part analyzes the present situation of the vocational college students' sense of responsibility. Vocational college students in general are good, but there exists a lack of sense of responsibility in life, honesty, vocation and society. There are many reasons. First of all, the main reason is from school. (1) The higher vocational colleges have not paid enough attention to responsibility education. (2) The responsibility education is not carried out by educational law. The education detaches itself from reality of students, lacks humane care, attaches little attention to responsibility practice while emphasizes more on knowledge impartation.(3) The responsibility education lacks coordination. On the one hand, the education subject in colleges is single, all-round education structure has not been formed. On the other hand, the present vocational colleges do not keep close contact with family and society, hence that there is no real resulting force. Besides, the family education is sidetracked. Parents' utilitarian philosophy of education and inadequate teaching methods such as full-control, indulgence, laissez-faire or violence style, results in functional weakening or even alienation in family education. Further more, a number of adverse factors of the social reality make negative influence.The third part is a new exploration of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges. This section contains the following four aspects.First of all, the goal of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges is to cultivate students' character of responsibility, enrich the connotation of all-round development of students and promote all-round development of students.Second, higher vocational colleges should optimize the content of responsibility education. The content of responsibility education includes education of life, honesty, self-development, vocation, family and social responsibility.Third, higher vocational colleges should reform methods of responsibility education. (1) Problem-immersion teaching method. Problem-immersion is to include responsibility education in real-life problems, through the organization of students to investigate, analyze and rethink a social problem, so that students are guided to form cognitive and emotional responsibility. (2) Emotion-immersion teaching method. Emotion-immersion is to enhance communication and exchange between teachers and students by means of love, respect and concern for students.Finally, the higher vocational colleges should form resulting force. (1) Resulting force of responsibility education within colleges. Colleges are required to centralize the power of the whole school to create an all-round education atmosphere. (2) Resulting force of colleges, family and society- From the aspect of a family, parents should change their concept of family education and reform family education methods. From the aspect of colleges, colleges should take the initiative to strengthen relation and cooperation with business firms and communities and seek more opportunities for students' social practice. Further more, colleges need to urge the government to purify the social environment and promote values and responsibilities of the mainstream concept, increase the intensity of punishment and provide a healthy and responsible external environment for higher vocational colleges' responsibility education.The innovation of this study is to focus on the scientific concept of development and harmonious development of people-centered perspective to explore and analyze the characteristics of higher vocational colleges' responsibility education, put forward the human, professional, practical, and coordination nature of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges, at the same time the responsibility of education is a systematic project, needing a joint efforts of education based mainly on college education , with coordination of families and various social forces, to form an resulting education force , then cultivate and enhance students sense of responsibility, strengthen effectiveness of responsibility education in higher vocational colleges.
