| The time calls for new teachers, calls for professional development of teachers. The professional development of teachers is a process that teachers enhance their teaching ability, improve their teaching practice unceasingly, and develop their knowledge, ability and quality in the teaching process through their own continuous study, reflection and research. The idea "teacher as the researcher" requests the teachers take research as their own duty, regard themselves as researcher, solve actual practical problems through research. Therefore, research ability in teaching has also become a important content of teacher's profession development.School-based research asks the teachers taking various concrete problem in school circumstances as subject, finding the problems in their daily teaching practice, developing research plan based on these problems they come across, collecting and using each kinds of research materials and the resources, forming the research results and applying them in their teaching practice. It will make their teaching more efficient and perfect day by day, also will promote the students' development and their own professional development. Therefore, School-based research is an effective platform for professional development of teachers.This study designed the questionnaire "the school-based research conditions of elementary and middle schools", It is aimed at fully understanding of the implementation of the school-based research as well as its impacts on the professional development of teachers. The author provided 245 questionnaires to 9 schools, which has impleted the school-based research in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, and select four teachers carrying on the in-depth interviews. The results showed that the school-based research has made certain progress in reality, and it has had the positive influence on teacher's professionalism, professional awareness, knowledge and ability. But there are still some problems, such as teachers lack reflection and co-operation in school-based research, schools has not formed very good atmosphere, teacher's research lacks powerful training and instruction. To solve the above problems, the author put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions, that is,the teachers should work out reasonable research plan and improve their capacity of self-reflection ability and research ability; the school should explore different school-based research activities and establish the teacher cooperate research community; the education administration should provide necessary professional guidance and strengthen the research organization construction and so on. |
