The per capita GDP of Austria is at the forefront of the world, because of its well-developed vocational education. Full-time vocational schools and apprenticeship are the main models of initial vocational education and training in Austria. Full-time vocational schools model includes VET schools and colleges, and university of applied science; apprenticeship more emphasis on hands-on training in the enterprise Business premises and part-time apprenticeship training schools at the same time. Then it introduced the operation of these two models in detail through some examples included manage finance, teaching method, teacher training, learning and etc. Based on these facts, the paper analyzed the mechanisms which pushed these two models to the success. These mechanisms included management mechanism of clear responsibility, the mechanism of stable funds devotion; the sound law mechanism and the unimpeded information mechanism. The paper still analyzed the deep reasons that form the two models in Austria.There are a variety of training models of vocational education in China. We have been trying to integrate the school learning and enterprise learning effectively, but the results are not obvious. We need to learn from the vocational education indeveloped countries, such as Austria. At the same time, China's current vocational education in terms of both quantity and quality can not meet the manpower demand. Many of our fine traditional technologies and process also need to focus on the development and transmission. How to make use of these two models in modern society to develop our vocational education? In the last part of this paper, the author gave some suggestions through the Austria experiences. |
