| Attending and assessment of classroom teaching is not only the normal way of the teaching administration of principals but also the effective way of teaching leadership. On one hand, principals can get the real situation of the school and access the effective ways of the management by using this way. On the other hand, principals can help the teachers increase their ability of teaching by attending lectures.In 1980s, as an effective administrative way, it is widely used among our essential education in China. and we have a certain amount of accumulated experience. However, with the development of education, the responsibility and right of the principal are also diversified. Many of the principals put their energy into the support of the government in order to get more resource. They pay less attention to classroom teaching. There are some problems in attending and assessment of principals. As far as we are concerned, it is a key period of essential education in China, whatever from the scale and the increasing quantity to paying more attention to cultivation, at this crucial period, what's the essential role of the principals? What do principals pay more attention to? This dissertation makes some suggestions according to survey and analysis.In the part of Chapter 1, the dissertation introduces the backgrounds and significances of the research, reviews the development of the research on principals' attending classroom teaching both abroad and home, defines the main concepts, introduces the research methods used and the structures of the dissertation. Chapter 2 analysis the questions and reasons of principals' attending classroom teaching from the following aspects: attending class rooms, the related systems , the technique of training and the needs of principals by questionnaires.Chapter 3 We attempt to make some suggestions on the listed problems: recognize the value of the attending instruction of principals and also attempt to clarify the aims, the types ,the ways, the roles and also the times of the attending instruction of principals. Furthermore, the dissertation analysis how to use the evaluation and feedback.Chapter 4 begins with some reflections on essential education in China on the basis of what has been expounded above. It ends with some suggestions to the system of principle participation. |
