Biology is a natural science based on experiment. Experiment is an important part of biological teaching and plays a special role. This paper studied the present condition of the new biological experiments teaching in the Baotou city junior middle school. Research showed that implementing about ideas and goals of the new curriculum were not satisfactory. Experiments grouped were average of 42.8%, experiments demonstrated were 51.1%, Out rate of the biological experiments was relatively low; Lab assistant, laboratory and experimental apparatus were not enough; The schools with part-time lab assistant were 41.5% on average, 67.9% of the schools did the experiment in a group of sixties and seventies at the same time; Biology teacher's experimental skills were poor, only 37.6% of teachers thinked that their own teaching were good, 70.5% of students did not like the current teaching model of the biological experiment; Only 24% of the schools open laboratory; Laboratory facilities in different regions were not balanced; Many reason, including lack of government investment, experimental materials and laboratory technicians, difficulties in school funding, low quality and skills of biology teacher, and so on, lead to the present condition.In view of existing situation of the experimental teaching, author put forward strategies: to increase the input of funds, to effectively address the difficulty situation, and replace various instruments and equipment else according to the standard of experimental teaching; to improve the quality and skills of teachers, to lay much stress on biological experiments, to make good use of local resources to ensure a good experiment with alternatives; to balance educational resources, to assist the experimental teaching with modern educational technology.Through the study of this article, the author accurately described, as far as possible, the understanding of teachers and students towards experimental teaching, and explored the ways to narrow the gap between present condition and new curriculum, expected to carry out experimental teaching and provided a theoretical basis for schools and teachers.
