This study focuses on the background of the Consumer Education in Contemporary Japanese School, and the theories, methods of execution and teaching methods of the Consumer Education to reveal the significance, conditions and methods of the Consumer Education in Contemporary Japanese School. In the end, try to give revelations to our own Consumer Education. This thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduction. It introduces the origin of this study and social background, as well as the purpose, significance and characteristics. This paper arranges the important internal literature of Consumer Education and found that domestic study mainly focused on promoting sales or protecting the consumers' legitimate rights and interests. So the research on Consumer Education in the field of school is lack, and mainly focuses on introducing the practice of Consumer Education in Western schools. The research on the theory and practice of Consumer Education in Japanese schools is blank.In Chapter II it analyses the background why Japan carried out the Consumer Education from the respect of political affairs, economy and citizen movement. It expounds how the Consumer Education is promoted by the corporations, government, consumer groups and educational groups.In Chapter III it mainly expounds the history transformation of Consumer Education in school education and mainly focuses on the concept of Consumer Education in Japan. It analyzes the different concepts and definitions of Japanese Consumer Education and found out these main views of research on Japanese Consumer Education.In Chapter IV it researches on the practice of Japanese Consumer Education in school. It focuses on the content of Consumer Education in the outline of Social Studies and Home Economics Studies and summarized the characteristic of Consumer Education in the two subjects. And found the Consumer Education in Japanese schools attaches particular importance to developing the subjectivity of consumers as citizen in the economic life. Especially it emphasizes to integrate the consumer rights with responsibilities. Then it researches on the practice of Japanese Consumer Education in practice of teaching by focusing on the teaching cases from textbooks, classroom teaching and so on.The final chapter expounds the revelation to the Consumer Education in our country. We should insist in the Chinese special road in the special situation. So the Consumer Education of China should have special content. This paper explains the importance and the main train of thought to improve the Consumer Education of our country, and proposes amendments to the current teaching outline.
