The criticism of college entrance examination system refers to the controversy and comment on the college entrance examination system. The concept of criticism is used in the broadest sense. Based on the critical texts on the college entrance examination and the results of multi-disciplinary research, this paper uses the text analysis method and theoretical deduction approach to discuss the characteristics of criticism of college entrance examination system, the macroeconomic background and deep-seated problems behind the criticism. These discussions are focused on the question "Why college entrance examination system encountered so fierce criticism". Moreover, the justifiable position to the criticism of college entrance examination system is also discussed in this paper.The uproarious criticism of college entrance examination system has more than one side. This paper first scans the focus and characteristic of the criticism from a philosophical overall- macro perspective. The current focus topic of the criticism is the merits and demerits of the system, and the derivative problem: unify or independent; reserve or abolish. The major characteristic of the criticism is that the participants are in a wide range but the voice of secondary school teachers is rather weak, and there are many kinds of discourse mode with some construction and innovation. To some extent, the frequent reform of the system of college entrance examination demonstrates the effectiveness of criticism.After describing the complexity of the criticism, this paper further analyses the macro-background of the criticism, such as the system loss and functional change. The anomie phenomenon during the period of social transition, such as the fraud and corruption in college entrance examination, results in the controversial comments on college entrance examination system. The functional changes of the college entrance examination system, for selection, social mobility as well as the changes in the justice conditions, directly lead to the thoughts of the abolition of college entrance examination system. In fact, the individual and group interests contained in college entrance examination are forming as a solid chain. In the disputes of interests, the criticism gradually plunges into the plight of multiple hardships and position, which makes the criticism more complex.Finally, according to the principles of justice from Rawls, this paper holds the point that the reform of college entrance examination system should insist on the stance of the system justice and pay attention to the disadvantaged individuals and groups. Furthermore, the paper reiterates the function of regulating social justice and admeasuring educational resources fairly by the college entrance examination system. The paper also proposes that the criticism should hold the stance of justice to break the myth of the functional system and overcome the shortcomings of the system itself and protect educational fairness and justice, so that it can play an important role in promoting the changes of college entrance examination system.
