With the development of economic globalization and the deepening of China's reform and opening-up, especially after the 29th Beijing Olympic Games,the international status of China has been steadily increasing. At the same time,as one of the most widely-used language, the role of English as a communication tool is irreplaceable in politics, economy, military, technology and etc. Therefore, Chinese-English bilingual teaching is becoming the hotspot of curriculum reform in our country. With the quick development of China's economy, higher and stricter demands for job-seekers than ever are reflected not only in quantity but also in quality. Confronted with the 21st century development, China needs to improve its education, and especially fundamental education which must be reformed and innovated. Under the background of the curriculum reform and the innovation of educational models, bilingual education makes its grand debut, and thus become the focus in the field of education. Bilingual primary schools, high schools and even kindergartens are mushrooming like the multiplying of bamboo shoot after a spring rain. But in the process of implementing bilingual education, there arise a lot of problems which requires quick solution, such as implementing situation, strategies and evaluating methods. If those problems cannot be studied in time and handled effectively, a great loss will be caused to education and teaching. In order to get a better knowledge of the situation of bilingual education in our country, and to to educate more outstanding students, this essay does some investigation and study on four kinds of historical bilingual educations.
