A Study On The Prevention And Control Of Campus Rumor

This dissertation applies a first-step study to the rumor and rumor control.Rumor is as old as human civilization.As the development of human society,both the probability of its occurrence and the problems it reflects are not decreasing but increasing. Therefore,the practical significance of its research is not weakened,but strengthened. Rumor is "a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts",when people are in great demand of information to fill the gap between their anxiety and the lack of information from normal media channel,they are likely to be susceptive to any information,hence the rumor is accepted to serve this purpose. In recent years,there is a obvious trend that campus rumor will happen usually. Though campus rumor is not so much that students in campus cannot bear,the affects behind it cannot be ignored.In campus,students communicate with each other and keep in touch with one another,the rumor will be delivered more quickly.Besides, rumor is not only the information that needed,but also the hidden attitude of the mass to the collective emerging of uncertainty.Therefore,once the campus rumor takes place,it will serious influences the students' study,daily life,activities and so on.This thesis includes three main parts.The first part introduces the reason of choosing such a topic,the present situation,the techniques to be used,the content and the significance of the research.The uniqueness of the article lies in the points that the research in the article about campus rumor towards college students is more comprehensive,systematical,and thorough,and that it is more advanced in promoting the research and in developing the breadth and excavating the depth of the mechanism. The second part has,on the basis of pointing out the concept and connotation of rumor and campus rumor,emphatically analyzed the source of the campus rumor in Communication,Sociology,Psychology and the ideological & political education, and then probes into the roots of such rumor,which may make us soberly aware of the present situation of campus rumor,and then improve our understanding of the importance and urgency of the construction of the long-effect mechanism.This essay especially points out the importance of information and ideological & political education in controlling the campus rumor.In addition,ever since the carrying-out of our reform and opening-up policy,and especially since the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th Central Committee,the ideological & political education towards college students has been carried on continuously as a long-term strategic mission by the Central Party Committee.The ideological & political education can take an active part in controlling the campus rumor.
