The open exam questions are a kind of new questions that appeared in the chemistry exam to test students' capability. The open exam questions demand that students can use their open mind to find many ways to solve the problems. Moreover, in this process, they can find the pleasure of obtaining new knowledge and become creative. So it is a very useful way to carry out creative education, and it is also a good way to develop students' creativity. With the deep going of the new course revolution, the open exam questions are drawing a wide attention.This essay is giving a research to the present situation of solving ability to open exam questions, and the wrong reasons of open exam questions on the basis of the problem-solving theory and constructivism. Furthermore, it give a simple research to the teaching tragedies of improving the abilities,The results are listed below.First, because of the effect of traditional teaching, the students have many problems in solving the open exam questions, so they often lose their marks in the exam.Second, the main reasons are: their disorder knowledge formation; their fixed mind; the question information can not be transferred; the language is not standard; they are too nervous.Third, the teaching tragedies to improve the ability of solving open questions: the knowledge formation; get the chance; reinforce the mind training; subjective tragedy, and use alternatively.
