For the court reform during the modern times,the Chinese traditional judicial system had been transformed greatly.To sum up the gain and loss,it can not only deepen the understanding of the rule of historical development,but can aslo draw lessons for the current judicial reform.This paper researches on the Guangdong High Court in the early period of Nanjing National Goverment(1927-1937) as to probe the specific state of the court modernization.The thesis is divided into three parts.The first part introduces the background of Guangdong High Court,studing how it was runing.The key point of this part is the analysis of the state of the court modernization in modern history of China and the circumstance in the Guangdong Province.The second part is about the setting and operation of the Guangdong High Court.The major content of this part is the staffing,administation of justice and the adjudgement.The third part will estimate the Guangdong High Court from the perspective of modernization to analyze the success and the limitation during its modernization.
