| With the social economic development and improved quality of life, more and more people begin to realize the importance of health. It has been described: among the sum of each individual's wealth, only "health" is "1", while others such as the "career", "family", "money" and so on are just "0" which are after the "1". Without "1", no matter how many "0" anyone has, all become no real significance in the end which can only be summed up as "0" .Indeed, human health is the most important wealth, without health, anything is futile. The state of health of the population is the result of the interaction of various factors. The concept of modern medicine think that, genetic factors, natural environment, level of socio-economic development, science and technology development, the level of personal income, occupational status, education level, lifestyle and behavior, nutrition, medical and health care systems and so on have a direct or indirect impact on the health status of the population. This paper is based on the "Chinese economy, population, nutrition and health survey" (China Economic, Population, Nutrition and Health Survey, referred to CHNS ) Micro data , which is conducted by China's prevention of Nutrition and Food Science Research Institute of Health Research and the U.S. University of North Carolina, I have selected CHNS data in 2000, 2004 and 2006, using methods of descriptive statistics and statistical inference, from the economics point of view and using statistical methods division, which is to show China's population health status, using discrete choice model to make scientific analysis of the impact of factors in the health status in different population groups in recent years in China. In the empirical analysis of this paper, it includes two major aspects: First is to confirm the measurable indicators of China's population on the health status, including composition of the indicators, methods of how to build weights and the summary results; the core part is creation of discrete choice model to analyze China's rural areas, the urban population health factors and their impact on the health of urban and rural differences, gender differences, occupational differences.Through the empirical analysis of this paper, we found that the proportion of the rural population in good health is higher than that of urban population, the proportion of men in good health is higher than that of women, relative to manual workers, mental workers are in better conditions, healthy ratio in the eastern zone of China's population is lower than that in the western zone. In different circumstances, I built logistic models to find that variables such as age, level of education, employment, personal income, medical insurance, health services over the past four weeks, and so on all have marked impacts on the health of the population.Among them, the relationship between the age variable and health is non-linear, before about 25-year-old ,with the increase of age, the health proportion of the population gradually increases, after about 25-year-old, age variable has a negative effects on health; the level of education variable has a significant positive impact of a person's health status, especially for female rural population and male urban population, the higher the educational level, the more conducive to the health of the individual; employed population in health status is better than the non-working population; the effect of career income on health is very significant and on positive direction, but the model showed that, with career earnings increasing , the impact on the health status is much smaller; two variables of whether access to medical insurance and whether to accept health care services over the past four weeks on the health effects are all very significant, enjoy medical insurance or accept health services over the past four weeks have positive direction impacts on health status.Whether rural or urban populations, the career variable individuals engaged in has impact on health condition, compared to manual work, first and second category of professional occupations, that are mental workers and the combination of partial mental and manual workers, have negative impacts on population health, which is in line with the fact that manual worker has the highest healthy proportion in the whole population. Two variables on the working hours are daily work hours and hours of work last week, it shows that increasing work hours will has a negative health effect.Based on the above findings, the impact factors of population health are in many aspects, to raise the personal health status, therefore we need to develop scientific, effective and reasonable health policy; increase the investment in education; formulate a reasonable working hours to ensure personal good health; to promoting a healthy lifestyle, do preventive health care; accelerate the development of social medical insurance system. |
