Parent involvement in their children's early education plays a very important role in the development of the children with the special needs, in the advancement of the education's quality, and in the improvement of the families' life.This research investigated the current situation of parent involvement in early education of children with special needs in Shanghai by questionnaires and interviews. It construed the main influencial factors and problems in parent involvenment in early education of children with special needs to give some helpful theoretic references.The findings of this reserch includes as follows:1 The attitude of the parents towards invlovement in the special education is positive. The current situation of parent involvement in early education of children with special needs is that the parents involve in the early education sometimes. The parents think they need to involve in their children's early education. The top three forms of parent involvement in their children's education are " attending parents' meeting", "talking with the teacher when picking their kids to/off school " and " participating in parenting activity in school".2 There are positive correlations between the current situation and the expectation of parent involvement in early education of children with special needs, between the attitude and the current situation, and between the attitude and the expectation.3 Between the parents and the teachers, there is no remarkable difference in the collectivity and every dimensionalities of the attitude towards parent involvement, and there is no remarkable difference in the collectivity of the expectation, but differences in some dimensionalities. Between the parents of children with special needs and the parents of normal children, there is no remarkable difference in the collectivity of the attitude, but differences in some dimensionalities, the same as in the current situation, and there is no remarkable difference in the collectivity and every dimensionalities of the expectation.4 Parents' education level, the special children's age, the type of disabilities, and the type of schools all have effects on the parents' attitude towards parent involvement in early education of children with special needs. The role of parents, the time the parents is together with their children everyday, wheather or not the child is the only one in the family, the type of schools and the location of the schools also have significant effects on current situation of parent involvement in early education of children with special needs. The role of parents and the type of schools have significant effects on the expectation of parent involvement in early education of children with special needs.
