Self-directed learning as an important way of learning, has increasingly become the main form of adult lifelong learning. How to effectively maintain adult's learning motivation directly decide on the success or failure of learning in self-directed learning. This article use the surveys of interviews, literature research, through self-directed learning in adult learning case studies, to show the characterization of adult learning motivation to maintain in self-directed learning , the impact factors, and give some adivices to promote adult learning motivin to maintain in self-directed learning. Constituted by the six chapters of this thesis, as outlined below:Chapter I is the introduction, describing the background, significance of research. and analysis the concept of adults, self-directed learning, learning motivation, adult learning motivation and motivation to maintain.Chapter II is the literature summarization. On the basis of document study of domestic and international researches about adult learning motivation and self-directed learning. Clearly definite the main achievements and subsistent deficiency of this research field.Chapter III described the study program, the choice of research methods, research design and implementation of programs. Including the identification interviewers, data collection and analysis.Chapter IV shows the characterization of adult learning motivation to maintain in self-directed learning,and analysis of adult learning motivation in self-directed learning, the type of self-directed learning motivation and the characteristics of \maintain the self-directed learning motivation.Chapter V analysis the text of the interview from the internal and external factors to research impact factors. of adult learning motivation in self-directed learning.Chapter VI is the strategies about how to maintain adult learning motivation in self-directed learning give the proposals of support environmental of adult self-directed learning from a macro point of view, give their own maintain learning motivation strategy of reference from the perspective of adult learners.
