"Number Sense"is an awareness about relationship between numbers and number modle, and use this awareness solve the problem.This paper is to conduct research on the current situation of the number sense of sutdents in grade 3. The research is carried out from the following aspects:grade difference and sex difference.The research discovered that most sutdents are used to solve Mathematics problems througn exact calculate and the percentage of the students who use Number Sense is very low. Meanwhile, the following findings were found:(1)Integrally speaking ,the students'Number Sense increased as students progressed through the grades but there was no appreciable difference the grades vis-a-vis Number Sense.As to the 6 aspects: there are appreciable difference between all students. As forall students ,thete is appreciable difference in the other 4 aspects except applying benchmarks and developing strategies appropriately.(2)Comparing the 6 aspects of Number Sense, all students performed best in understanding the numbers and worst in applying benchmarks.(3) In the general, to all students, there was no appreciable gender difference wile there was appreciable gender difference between Male and Female 6th students and the male were better than the female.Finally, according to the findings and conclusins,the research provided some suggestions for Mathematics education and following studies.
