The teachers' conceptions of student assessment in this research paper refer to that the teachers' understanding of the aim,the subject,and the content,the approach in assessment when evaluating the students and the analysis and feedback after the assessment.This paper, on the basis of research results in history,is divided into four parts,namely,theory analysis of teachers' conceptions of students assessment,the current situation of this conceptions,the factors that influence this conceptions and how to construct new students assessment conceptions which is in accordance with the new courses.The first part mainly focuses on the theory analysis of teachers' conceptions of student assessment in middle school.It analyzes the question of value orientation in teachers' conceptions of student assessment and further analyzes the value orientation in the context of new courses,and sums up the categories of teachers' conceptions.The second part takes middle school teachers in Hebei Province as a sample,and a survey approach was applied in the investigation.The outcome of the investigation shows that the teachers generally accept the student assessment conceptions on the new course,they agree with the aim,subject,approach and result analysis and feedback,and they totally agree with the dimensions of the content being evaluated.As to aim,the middle school teachers regards that it is in the interest of the students to promote the development of students and evaluating plays a role of inspiring the students;as to the content,the middle school teachers does not accept the idea of evaluating students by their scores only,but maintain a comprehensive way should be used:they should evaluate the students through emotion, attitude,values,individual psychological status;in the aspect of approach,the teachers support a quantative way of assessment and multiple ways;in outcome feedback,the teacher disagree with each other,and they support the idea of sending the assessment results to the parents and do not support making public the results.By applying the T test and variance analysis approach,the different factors that influence assessment has been checked,and it is found that there are obvious difference among many factors.The score of young teachers with less teaching experience and lesser professional title tend to be higher than that of older teachers with more teaching expertise and higher professional title;the score of teachers who graduated from ordinary universities and colleges are higher than that of teachers who graduated from normal universities;teachers who teach art,PE,psychology and practical lessons support the idea that evaluating students is to promote the development of students and check the result of teach,which teachers teaching Chinese,foreign languages and math do not agree;junior school teachers agree more with the new course reform than that of the senior high school teachers;teachers from ordinary school agree more with the course reform than that of the key schools;teachers who have been trained on the new course reform agrees more with the reform than that of teachers who have not been trained.The third part applied the method of relevance and regression in analyzing the factors that influence student assessment conceptions,and the conclusion is:age,university, professional title,and subject,being trained or not,the school the teacher is in,the type of the school all are related to the assessment conceptions.Through regression,it can be concluded that there are two main factors which influence the assessment conceptions:professional title and school type.On the basis of the analysis and discussion above,the fourth part proposes some ideas and suggestions on how to construct modern student assessment conceptions in middle school. It is regarded that constructionism,multifactor theory,post-modernism,humanitarianism are the basis of modern student assessment theory,and founded on this,the principle and strategy of constructing new course assessment system is proposed.The principle is that development, student-centeredness,and more emphasis on process,coordination and diversification. Modern assessment conceptions should be established,and advocate a new concept of curriculum evaluation of students;the learning of teacher's educational evaluation theory should be strengthen to realize the internalization of theory;new course training should be initiated stratified and classified;the institution construction should be strengthen to build an effective evaluation of the teachers' conceptions of student assessment in the context of the new curriculum;supportive environment should be established.
