First,at this stage college students tend to explore and establish their own careers.They gradually develop the workers' occupational value and vocational ability.However,they are flexible and easy to be influenced by the outside.Second,social changes have accelerated the segmentation of division of labor and many new jobs emerged from this segmentation, therefore it's important for college students to make a wise decision when making career selection.Third,higher vocational education has accounted for more than 50%of higher education.Vocational college students' career selection not only relates closely to students' realization of self-worth,but also to the healthy development of higher education.Based on the facts above and China's situation,This study explores the factors influencing Career Selection of Students in the Higher Vocational CollegeThe author first conducted an open-ended questionnaire and constructed a theoretical model of factors influencing career selection of students in the higher vocational colleges, based on the previous researches.Then according to the model an initial questionnaire is made and tested.Finally a final version of questionnaire formed of 45 questions is completed. The survey result shows that the career selection of students in higher vocational colleges is a multi-leveled and multi-dimensional complex system.It mainly consists of Human Capital, Social Capital and Occupational Value.Human capital includes vocational skills, interpersonal skills,personal qualities and adaptability.Social capital includes vocational guidance,social relations and the opportunity to select.Vocational values includes occupational prestige,occupational health and career development.So the final conclusion of the whole research is identical with the initial theoretical hypothesis.This study studies the structure of factors influencing career selection of students in the Higher Vocational Colleges.It enriches the researches on Management and Psychology.The questionnaire made in this study is helpful.However,it needs further study to enrich the research methods of factors influencing career selection.And it is highly recommended to conduct researches on the correlation of these factors in the future.
